The Department of Civil Engineering has been in existence since the inception of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, in 2010.

The Civil Department is focused on the Designing, Surveying, and Construction sectors, producing technically expert engineers.Uttarakhand University Civil Engineers are making significant contributions in the planning and execution of Civil Engineering projects in India.

The Department follows advanced teaching methodologies, with state-of-the-art facilities for Research & Laboratory, to keep in pace with the latest advancements. The department inculcates entrepreneur skills in the budding civil engineers to compete and excel in the current world scenario. The department has sustained the standard of its academic programs, via working with industrial professionals. The academic programmes, offered at the Department of Civil Engineering are B. Tech. (Four Year Course), M.Tech. (Two Year Course) and Ph.D. The Master’s degree is offered in three major specializations of civil engineering (viz., Transportation Engineering, Structural Engineering, Remote Sensing and GIS).

Faculty members provide civil on-site training experiences, through Educational Cum Industrial Visits, at the ongoing civil projects, of national importance. The faculty of the department continues to deliver the latest technical knowledge to the students, on the firm pillars of research and innovation.

Programmes Offered

B. Tech. CIVIL/B. Tech. CIVIL LEET – Civil Engineering

Another kind of engineering course that is common among the aspiring engineers is B. Tech in Civil Engineering. There is a lot of scope for these graduates in government jobs as well.

M.Tech. Civil (Structure Engineering)

It is a branch of civil engineering that deals with the designing and constructing certain structures. It doesn’t necessarily need to be related to structure in a building but also in roads, dams, bridges and other such constructions.

M.Tech. Civil (Transportation Engineering)

This section of engineering deals with the management of smart transportation systems. Engineers with this degree are responsible for the designing of pavements, traffic signals and highways.

M.Tech. Civil (Geotechnology Engineering)

The engineers who graduate from this field have specialized in the materials that are found in the earth’s crust. Their expertise lies in analyzing these materials and determining their use.

M. Tech. Civil (Construction Technology & Management)

CTM is focuses on the knowledge & skills required for the planning, coordination and successful implementation of large Projects such as design and construction of structures and buildings, ship structures, aircraft, dams, roads, and bridges etc.
